A world leading manufacturer is working with a well-known sailing team to support a challenge for the American Cup title. To assist them in this they require a Programme Manager to help them for the next 9 months. The Programme Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a fully integrated planning schedule for the current project, across the full breadth of disciplines and functions. The post holder will collect inputs from all technical teams and support functions to use in the development and maintenance of an accurate and integrated logic-linked schedule of activities and key milestones.
As the Programme Manager your role will include but not be limited to the following:
Liaise with all departments, project personnel and contractors to ensure all key planning inputs are gathered, linked into a fully integrated plan and periodically reviewed and maintained. Interface with all those conducting planning activities in individual teams on a regular basis, to ensure a thorough understanding of planned activities, as regards their potential impact on schedule and other functions or disciplines` tasks Ensure all interfaces between functions and disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered as dependencies, where appropriate, in the integrated plan. Run Critical Path Analysis reports and produce deviation reports Monitor, report and verify progress and performance against the baseline plan Assist those with planning responsibilities within each team to assess resource requirements of individual projects within the plan through analysis of integrated plan inputs. Assess and communicate impact on integrated project schedule of potential or approved scope change Prepare & maintain management S` Curves and manpower forecasts Recommend remedial action to minimise effects of slippage in the plans Conduct schedule risk analysis on integrated schedule to identify opportunities, conflicts, constraints when required
Minimum HNC/HND qualification in Project Management or similar, with significant planning experience, ideally within boat design and development or other maritime or high tech / high R&D focused engineering activities Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project or Primavera (or other equivalent planning tools). Extensive planning experience, preferably in high tech design and build engineering projects. Excellent organisation and communication skills Able to prioritise workload appropriately Independent, pro-active, accurate, with strong analytical and organizing skills Embraces change and continual improvement Good team working skills with an ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload as required.
