An Assistant Project Manager is needed to join The Manufacturing Technology Centre, The MTC is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking an Assistant Project Manager. The purpose of the role is to take on specific responsibilities and delegated tasks for the Project Manager, and to deputise in times of their absence.

Duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager include:
Ensure direct line manager is briefed on any mission critical issues and remedial plans are fully agreed Hold regular project and risk reviews in line with the MTC project management policy Develop KPIs with line manager and maintain for the project and ensure targets are delivered Manage change within the project in consultation with line manager. Ensure all changes are documented and agreed with stakeholders, including external funding bodies Project creation in ERP systems including creation of contracts and planning of milestones Identifying projects with difficulties, developing and implementing revised plans where necessary. Assist Programme Managers and Senior Programme Managers as requested to analyse specific areas of concern on projects, define and implement plans to address. Initiate and manage low and medium value projects to successful completion.
The Assistant Project Manager will have / be:
Significant experience in a busy projects based/professional services environment Have clear leadership potential to drive medium sized, and potentially larger projects Experience and a working understanding of delivering projects in an engineering/professional services environment A natural investigatory nature and able to diagnose problems. Qualified to degree level in technical and / or business related disciplines A background in Engineering or professional related disciplines, ideally in Aerospace, Automotive or other Manufacturing industries Experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel Some knowledge of working on partially State funded projects
