The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Metrology Technician.
The purpose of the Metrology Technician will be to support measurement and inspection of components in a variety of materials within the casting area using both CMM and manual measurement tools to ensure delivery of all project work to quality, time and cost requirements.

The Metrology Technician duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to are: Process components through the measuring operations in preparation for further processing and inspections. Set and operate a range of laboratory based inspection equipment including CMM, Scanners and first principle related inspection tools Abide and operate within the strict specifications and processes of the metrology theme. To ensure that confidentiality requirements associated with particular areas of research/projects are maintained. provide data to be utilised in research reports and analytical projects and play an active role in advising the production teams on measurement and inspection strategy.
Applicants for the Metrology Technician position should possess experience and a working knowledge of the following: Demonstrable experience within CMM programming software`s such as PCDMIS, MCOSMOS, Calypso or MODUS Demonstrable experience of 3D scanning measurement software and equipment such as GOM and Nikon. Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines and can produce basic inspection reports to the required and appropriate standard Actively promotes and works towards maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.
