A UK Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Technical Centre are looking to develop the processes to transition the UK to become a world leader in manufacture of batteries for vehicle electrification. They are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician to aid in the battery`s electrode development. You will be involved in the day to day processes that revolve around the Anode and Cathode operations.
Salary: £32,000 -£ 38,000 p.a. + Up to 16% Pension + 25 days holiday
The Role The Manufacturing Technician will; Be a valued member of a small team responsible for the operation of a section of high-tech electrode processing equipment. Assist with commissioning activities, ensuring equipment is safe and meets expectations defined in the commissioning plan. Ensure routine preventative maintenance activities are carried out. Respond to technical issues / breakdowns ensuring quality and production is maintained. Implement continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
The Candidate The Manufacturing Technician must have all of the following; Completed a 4 year fully indentured apprenticeship with City and Guilds level 1,2 and 3 obtained from a large, recognised and relevant company. Basic knowledge of PLC controls (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc) Experience in diagnostic maintenance, troubleshooting, problem solving and repair of high speed/high precision process equipment (or fundamental in receiving this activity as a customer) Experience in a High Speed/ High Volume production environment (such as a bottling plan, printing press, food production or pharmaceutical production) Previous mentoring or team leading experience is beneficial. Experience of operating and maintaining complex machinery.
