A British engineering company who design, develop and manufacture a range of innovative and market leading devices, are seeking a Product Design Engineer to work in their new product development team. You will Design and develop new products utilising the latest technology, using your background in innovative product design.
Salary: Competitive + 33 days holiday + very good Pension + Early finish on a Friday
As a Product Design Engineer, you will; Work in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. Work on multiple projects, researching / developing new technologies and applications, and engineering a wide range of devices for customers, product lines and life cycle management of on market devices. Establish and develop understanding of market, user, and specific industry customer needs. Perform all product design cycle activities such as attending user studies / focus groups, identifying opportunities, establishing design input documents, concept generation, and development. Work alongside Human Factors Specialists to ensure products are safe in use, intuitive, and effective. Ensure user centred focus is applied to products under development. Be required to lead customers throughout projects in a professional manner. Deliver project tasks in a timely manner to a high standard with minimal support. Interacting and communicating effectively within project teams in both support, and design lead roles. Develop engineering features, components, and assemblies in 3D CAD (SolidWorks). Provide robust and innovative solutions to improve product range. Assess and select appropriate materials. Establish, demonstrate, and apply an understanding of appropriate regulatory frameworks throughout product development
A Product Design Engineer with; Previous design engineering experience in a regulated environment such as Aerospace, Oil and Gas, medical or Scientific instrumentation. Mechanical design and development of plastic parts for injection moulding and Materials (plastics) with an understanding of tooling requirements and features. Able to create, understand, and develop complex features, components, and assemblies. Proficient CAD user (SolidWorks). Both 3D and 2D FMEA and DFM Experience Ability to produce technical reports Technical drawing, geometric tolerancing, and tolerance analysis Good understanding of prototyping techniques.
