The National Additive Manufacturing Centre at the MTC is currently in a period of growth, There is an exciting opportunity for a Metal Additive Manufacturing Technician to join as lead of the technician team and support the strategy and objectives for NCAM operations

As the Lead Technician you will be working primarily with metal Additive Manufacturing, Powder Bed Fusion processes. This role will involve a large proportion of time spent managing the daily metal AM machine operations for safety, quality, cost, delivery and people (SQCDP) to NCAM build schedule working directly with the metal operations manager for additive Maintain a safe working environment for one`s self and others n line with MTC Health & Safety processes and procedures Responsible for monitoring of additive cell and machine/equipment cleanliness and that operations and technicians are working in a clean and safe environment Engaging with other process owners for supporting equipment and processes to achieve the full Additive Manufacturing cycle. This is to include power recycling, heat treatment, part removal, post processing and inspection through to final delivery Support daily production planning and assignment of work to Technicians Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment working with operations manager and facilitating contractors Support the service of all AM machines and process equipment working with the operations manager and facilitating contractors Support facilitating and engaging with workshop visitors on tours of training working with the operations manager for setting up events
As the Lead Technician you will need to be able to demonstrate a high level of autonomy with self supervision to identify areas of support Good communication skills to be able to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences inside and outside the MTC Previous experience working in a technical capacity Experience working with manufacturing machinery, hand tools and finishing techniques The ability to interpret technical drawings and follow process instructions
