This global manufacturer of domestic products are looking to recruit an Engineering & Development Manager to oversee the product development and engineering teams. You will have a background in leading NPI projects and a knowledge of injection moulding
Technically responsible for the entire UK product life cycle, including NPD (New Product Development) from inception through launch and sustaining production, continuous product improvement, cost reductions and quality enhancement projects. Assists in building and maintaining the UK NPD project priority list, continuously generating new ideas to feed an innovation roadmap. Ensures all products are commercially viable, efficient to manufacture and meet the quality and business expectations by adhering to traceable product requirements, following disciplined engineering methodologies such as design reviews, design and process FMEAs, tolerance studies, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis, mold flow calculations, material selection and analysis, manufacturing pilot builds, field trial studies and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning). Develops a cohesive and high-performing engineering culture that embraces engineering best practices.
Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or demonstrated ability through practical experience to perform technical and project management responsibilities. A Masters of Science Degree and/or Business Management is desirable. 10+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience managing engineering/technical groups in positions of increasing responsibility in high volume plastics manufacturing environments. 5+ years managing the engineering function, preferably at a senior level. Solid understanding of how engineering activities affect the organization`s P&L. Demonstrated success developing high-performing technical teams. Strong communication skills. Results oriented. Successful management of diverse resources in a global company. Ideal candidate will have experience of fluid dynamics with exposure to high volume plastic manufacturing of consumer goods. Experience with Pro-E, Windchill, stress, mold flow and fluid dynamic analysis Working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.
