This manufacturer of specialist poylmer raw materials are looking for a Technical Service Manager to support clients with processing issue, trouble shooting and material selection. You will have a technical understanding of polymer chemistry and plastics processing.
Salary: £40,000 p.a. to £50,000 p.a. + Car + Pension
Support business growth initiatives through product design, evaluation, and qualification activities. Material recommendations according to application requirements and related specifications Act as the technical coordinator for all aspects relating to customers Provide technical assistance, both written and verbal, to customers, Sales and other in-house personnel. Have an active role in resolving customer issues and challenges Travel to customer locations to assist in conducting qualification trials and troubleshooting. Present technical seminars for customers, Field Sales and other in-house personnel. Actively promote existing products as well as newly developed technologies. Identifying cost saving opportunities for the business and undertake cost-engineering exercises
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Experience and knowledge of multiple plastics processing techniques such as extrusion, compounding, continuous mixing processes & master batch. Strong understanding of customer products and process capabilities to allow value-added recommendations and trouble-shooting insight. Strong knowledge and experience working with multiple systems, colour concentrates, or chemical additives is desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be comfortable giving presentations and conducting customer meetings. Must be assertive and self-starting and able to function under minimal supervision, while being a supportive and professional team member.
