A Materials Manager opportunity working for a scientific instrumentation manufacturer to lead there purchasing, logistics and planning department based in Oxford. If you have materials management experience within an engineering environment please apply.
Manage all aspects of the materials function, and also lead ERP implementation/set up Purchasing experience identify suppliers, price negotiation, purchasing and expediting Demonstrated experience in low volume manufacturing environment, alongside continuous improvement techniques Day to day management of the materials team, identify resource and training needs Input parts, bill of material (BOM) and ERP system management Ensure manufacturing information and materials are issued to production teams Manage inventory levels inline with financial constraints, ensuring timely provision to meet production demands Select new and current suppliers based on assessment of capability, quality of performance and price negotiation Work closely with project leaders and other key stakeholders to make sure objectives are met
Must be experienced in purchasing or planning within low volume manufacturing industry Experience managing a small team is crucial Exposure to playing a lead role in the implementation of an ERP system would be beneficial SAP experience would be beneficial also The ideal Materials Manager should have experience in an engineering environment
