The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Project Manager on a Contract basis to work within the Construction Innovation Hub division.
The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the project management activities in allocated work packages within the Construction Innovation Hub (CIH). The primary function of the role is to oversee project performance, support balanced resource allocation and deliver targets to budget
The key duties and responsibilities of the CIH Project Manager will include: Ensure projects and sub projects are launched correctly with clear scope, goals, resourcing plans and realistic cost models Ensure projects are delivered on time and to agreed cost Manage the financial aspects of the allocated projects with a particular focus on end of project forecasted spend to budget. Work closely with technical leads and project governance to ensure a high quality of delivery Identify any scope, cost or delivery issues during the project and develop plans to address Ensure senior management are briefed on any mission critical issues and that remedial plans are fully agreed Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects using the project risk log.
The ideal candidate for the CIH Project Manager will be qualified to a minimum of degree level in a technical and, or business related discipline as well as a further qualification biased to the construction and infrastructure industry e.g. MCIOB or MRICS Additional experience and knowledge should include: Strong leadership with significant experience in a busy projects based/professional services environment A working understanding of delivering projects in an engineering/professional services environment Champion for project management processes, tools & techniques Experience of project management processes & reporting techniques across both small and large value projects and contracts Strong commercial acumen Articulate and able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business, from junior staff to CEO
