A rapidly growing leading supplier of high-integrity battery systems and surrounding technologies is currently looking for a Buyer to lead the purchasing function within the business. They are now looking to expand their team to deliver exciting new projects.

As the Buyer, you will be responsible for; Responsibility for sourcing, negotiating, and buying of goods and services used in the manufacture of high-integrity battery systems. Develop and maintain the buying strategy and processes. Ensure a smooth supply of the correct goods and materials and successfully communicate any potential issues to minimise the effect on the business. Manage supplier selection, negotiation and contracts as well as acting as a first point of contact for any quality, price, delivery or invoice issues. Represent the procurement team in meetings with clients and suppliers.
As the successful Buyer candidate, you must have; A proven track record of relationship management and the ability to engage, negotiate and manage suppliers. A minimum of 3 years industrial experience of direct procurement within a high integrity engineering environment. A relevant business / commercial management degree or equivalent qualification. Membership of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of engineering quality standards is also advantageous.
