Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking an Senior Research Engineer – Business Factory Optimisation. The purpose of the role is to support the Modelling & Simulation team in the area of Business and Factory Optimisation, with project-based creative problem solving, system design and optimisation.

The Role

The key responsibilities and duties of the Senior Research Engineer – Business Factory Optimisation will include:

Support collaborative projects, bid writing and strategic development with the wider Digital Engineering group and other MTC technology themes.
Lead industrial projects, from customer requirements definition and proposal elaboration, throughout project delivery, completing assigned packages of work to a high quality and agreed costs and time-scales.
Develop proposals for individual research projects to meet clients` needs in full.
Customer and partner liaison in large collaborative projects to ensure requirements capture, project delivery, overall project direction;
Provide technical and sub-team leadership to others in areas of expertise.
Generation of key project and strategic initiatives in alignment with theme`s strategy.
Provide technical leadership to all Research Engineers and Advanced Research Engineers.
Contribute to the theme business and technology strategy.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Senior Research Engineer – Business Factory Optimisation will be experienced and qualified in the following:
Minimum of degree qualified with computer science/ simulation bias plus minimum of 5 years industry experience.
Proficiency with using discrete event simulation software such as Simul8 or Delmia.
Experience and expert knowledge of discrete event simulation, system dynamics, agent based modelling and mathematical modelling.
Ideally manufacturing, programming, data-analytics and solutions architecture experience.
