The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Head of Business Development – Sectors. The purpose of the role is to manage the team of sector based business development and account Management professionals with the necessary leadership and strategic input to deliver on growth targets.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Insight, The Head of Business Development - Sectors will lead a team of 10 business development professionals spread across a number of sector teams.

The role encompasses:

Effective leadership and line management of business development managers and account managers within the sector teams through regular 1-2-1 meetings, team motivational activities, resource planning, personal development reviews, and ad hoc guidance as required.
Working with the sector heads to drive the growth and maintenance of the business pipeline.
Development of winning client proposals.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Head of Business Development – Sectors
role will possess the following attributes:

Ideally degree qualified with a background in manufacturing and/or B2B services who is comfortable with an agile and innovative environment.
Proven senior level business development background with demonstrable impact and success.
The ability to understand or have experience of innovations in manufacturing technology and its applications across different sectors.
Highly successful and emotionally intelligent with the ability to lead by example and coach others to be high performing individuals.
Experienced in the use of business development tools including; strategic account plans, client questioning methodologies such as SPIN, CRM systems, the use of value propositions
Direct senior level experience in one or more of the following sectors; utilities, aerospace, defence, food & drink, construction, infrastructure, energy production or cleantech
Be attuned to the mission of the MTC to impact positively society in the right way.
