The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join their Technology Transformation team.
The purpose of the role is to work with our Clients through a Technology Discovery Process, to identify opportunities to insert technology into manufacturing businesses to achieve competitive advantage. You will then participate in delivering work packages from the resulting Transformation Roadmap including, technology selection, technology readiness the facilitation of technology implementation and real operational and strategic advantages through optimal technology insertion.

The Technology Transformation Team require a Senior Research Engineer, to support high profile client projects across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will take leading roles in stand-alone and collaborative projects, to identify client technology requirements using the MTC Discovery Process. Key deliverables and responsibilities include: Managing the Discovery process to develop Technology Roadmap`s within the required scope and timescales Identification and facilitation of the implementation of innovative technology solutions that meets the requirements of business manufacturing strategy. Networking and collaborating with other Technology Groups within the MTC. Building relationships and the overall knowledge base within the business. Effective project management of time and resources for the project teams. Billable Utilisation meeting the set target levels for the Transformation team. Generate new project ideas in alignment with the themes strategy and roadmap`s. Support project proposals and business case writing Support the technology themes with your experience and knowledge of industry within multiple sectors Identifying and leading the physical and human resource requirements for projects.
The ideal candidate for the Technology Transformation Senior Research Engineering will have a good Engineering Degree, and broad knowledge of Manufacturing principles, including established and emerging technologies. They will be able to see the big picture, but also be pragmatic in delivering real strategic advantage to clients through the implementation of technology solutions. The suitable candidate will also possess: High level of industrial experience ideally in Manufacturing Engineering positions Experience in identifying the suitability of technology for businesses and the changes need to implement Experience in creating business cases Strong stakeholder management skills, and understanding of change management Ability to support speed to scale preparedness
