Support digital innovations in modern manufacturing methods, the Research Engineer will lead and coordinate research regarding the digital simulation and testing of products and systems to achieve the required compliances and performance criteria. The role will involve incorporate existing destructive testing methods with digital tools to create a more robust assurance framework. The role will also require extensive benchmarking with digital testing and analytical tools from other sectors including nuclear, chemical, oil & gas, aerospace and automotive manufacturing.
The successful applicant will possess a technically focused degree or higher level qualification and be conversant with destructive testing and analytical tools such as FEM, FEA, CFD and related digital modelling. You will well versed in providing research and high value technical content for the purpose of product assurance and compliance. Previous experience within offsite manufacturing and modern methods of construction are highly advantageous for the role.
