Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Principle Research Engineer in Data & Information Systems. The purpose of the role is to develop and run projects in the Data & Information Systems research area

The Data & Information Systems Engineer will undertake innovative research work that is focused primarily on the Manufacturing Capability Readiness Levels (MCRLs) 5-8. The role encompasses:
Supporting the Data & Information Systems in the development and deployment of projects working in the IT OT convergence area. Supporting the requirements engineering phase and ensuring that the industrial requirements are appropriately translated to the technical delivery teams. Developing proposals for individual research projects to meet clients` needs in full. Ensuring that research work is undertaken to meet or exceed the customers` quality expectations and project management of the research within the budgets and timescales allocated to each project. Promoting MTC capabilities through publications in international journals and presentations at conferences to professional bodies and special interest groups.
As the ideal candidate for the Data & Information Systems Engineer you will ideally have at least 5 or more years` recent and substantial work experience on relevant manufacturing systems in industrial manufacturing or R&D environments and possess the following attributes:
Industrial experience of enterprise system deployments and Operational Technologies (OT) elements within manufacturing (i.e. MES, MRP, ERP, SCADA etc) Industrial experience of Information Technologies (IT) technology stack used within the new digital manufacturing era, including the hardware infrastructure and software applications used to transform data. Strong knowledge and understanding of server visualisation technologies such as VMware, Azure Stack, Hyper-V, KVM and Openstack. Knowledge of service orchestration using Ansible or Salt or Kubernetes. Demonstrable software development skills using Java/C++/Python/Rust/Go Experience of SQL
