Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking an Advanced Research Engineer - Data & Information Systems.

The Informatics group undertakes innovative research work focused primarily on manufacturing Capability Readiness Level (MCRLs) 4-6 in many areas of manufacturing data information systems. The purpose of this role is to develop and run projects in the Data & Information Systems research area specifically data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The key responsibilities and duties of the Advanced Research Engineer - Data & Information Systems will include:
Supporting the Digital Engineering theme in particular the Data and Information Systems team with creative problem solving, solution concepts, system design and integration Contributing to projects related to Artificial Intelligence, data systems, data mining and decision support systems Developing proposals for individual research projects to meet clients` needs in full Customer and partner liaison in large collaborative projects to ensure requirements capture, project deliver and overall project direction;
The successful candidate for Advanced Research Engineer - Data & Information Systems will be experienced and qualified in the following:
Minimum of degree qualified with a computer science bias plus minimum of 5 years industry experience Demonstrable commercial awareness within the manufacturing sector. Proficiency with a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or Keras Experience and expert knowledge of at least one of the high-level programming languages (Java, C/C++ or C#) Familiar with Linux Experience in the use of advanced statistical analysis and machine learning methods Strong theoretical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications. Proficiency with Python and basic libraries for machine learning such as scikit-learn and pandas Experience of NoSQL Databases Strong experience in statistical software packages and visualisation toolkit (e.g. R, Python, Tableau, KNIME etc.)
