The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre is focused on developing, maintaining and building upon the vital skills required by manufacturing graduates, technicians, engineers and managers to deliver the technologies that keep the Great British manufacturing industry globally competitive. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking an Instructional Designer on a 6 Month fixed term contract basis. The purpose of the role is to design highly engaging learning that develops the performance levels within the Engineering Sector.

As the Instructional Designer you be liaising with key subject matter experts, such as Technology Managers, Senior Research Engineers and Technicians within the MTC Group to ensure the appropriate information is being converted into suitable and engaging learning content. You will liaise with members and customers to identify their business and people performance requirements through learning needs analysis. You will design and develop training material using various methodologies that deliver measurable performance improvements within the Engineering sector. Face-to-face courses to allow for a live interaction between learners and the instructor. Virtual Classrooms and Webinars. Self-study programmes for online learning. Application of learning` assignments. Instructional/How-to videos. Create E-learning modules to meet requirements. Loading and testing of all material onto the Learning Management System. Facilitating the delivery of pilot training courses with the Trainer/ Subject Matter Expert.
The successful candidate for the Instructional Designer will possess the following attributes:
Demonstrable Instructional Design experience and capability. A demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Ability to work with stakeholders to develop robust design briefs. Microsoft Office experience. An understanding of ROI in learning & development. An understanding of the capabilities of e-learning as well as its associated development tools and software. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation). Previous experience working in the Engineering sector would be advantageous.
Desirable: Experience working in the construction sector, preferably in the modern methods of construction arena Training Foundation - TAP accredited Thorough understanding of Kirkpatrick`s evaluation model Experience with the Adobe suite of applications Experience with MS Publisher Any relevant Undergraduate qualification (or equivalent) Copy editing experience An understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
