The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre is focused on developing, maintaining and building upon the vital skills required by manufacturing graduates, technicians, engineers and managers to deliver the technologies that keep the Great British manufacturing industry globally competitive. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Maths and Mechanical Principles Trainer. The purpose of the role is to train and support advanced engineering apprentices within the fundamentals of Level 3 Competency and HNC Maths & Mechanical Principles units.
This role will be critical to the successful delivery within the Level 3 & 4 programmes, where these critical skills form the basis of the core elements within both EAL & BTEC qualifications and will offer support across all sites of our Apprenticeships delivery when required.

The role of Maths and Mechanical Principles Trainer will focus on the following key duties and responsibilities: Effective delivery of Maths & Mechanical principles paying due regard to developing independent learners, and enabling student progression towards successful completion of both the level 3 apprenticeship & HNC programmes. To act as the Mathematical lead for all apprentice support and progress for the complete apprentice journey up to and including the HNC programme Develop ways of working that are responsive to learners` needs, monitor and evaluate progress and practice and prepare learners for examinations. To work closely with the delivery team to support learners with barriers to learning. Draw up confidential Individual Learning Plans (ILP`s) and learner profiles outlining individual strengths and areas for development, agreeing targets and milestones with learners, contribute to their review and updating throughout the year. For all apprentices irrespective of their Mathematical prior qualifications. Support the delivery of extra-curricular activities and enrichment for the Apprentices career and personal development.
The successful candidate for the Maths and Mechanical Principles Trainer will have experience within the apprenticeship arena, will hold qualifications enabling the delivery of Maths and Mechanical Principles at HNC level. Further attributes and experience and qualification required includes: The successful candidate will be familiar with the planning requirements and production of detailed session plans to support learning development and progression within the Maths and CAD fields Maths bias Degree or equivalent engineering qualification and endorsed teaching qualification such as PTLLS or DTLLS or equivalent is essential Competence within Mathematical skills delivery at Level 3 and 4 and experience IT literate including LMS and generic Microsoft Office packages including Word, PowerPoint and MS Outlook Internal Quality Assurance qualifications is desirable
