A high-tech engineering company delivering world leading and patent-backed high-speed electric motors and drives for automotive super-charging applications and hydrogen fuel cell systems requires a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join this rapidly growing business with many exciting projects.

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for organising and leading a team of mechanical engineers to deliver a range of projects. You will work with the Head of Engineering to continually build and develop the mechanical engineering team to fulfil the company`s strategic road map.
You will provide technical guidance and oversight to other mechanical engineers and ensure products are developed to achieve compliance with automotive requirements. You will provide technical liaison and support for customers and participate in the creation of functional specifications including DVP and FMEA. In addition to reviewing and signing off reports, drawings, designs and calculations, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will also identify opportunities for improvements in functionality and manufacture.
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have proven experience of developing electro-mechanical components within the automotive sector as well as knowledge of Motor design including Rotor dynamics, balancing, shaft stress analysis, material selection, carbon fibre materials and magnet retention. You will have experience of DFM/DFA and have the ability to enthuse and lead a team, be a self-starter and prioritise and plan effectively. You will need excellent problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail and have a creative approach for new ideas to create solutions.
