Following continued growth and the award of new projects a leading developer of automotive technologies has a new vacancy for a Chief Engineer Battery Systems. You will be responsible for all aspects of battery system development, from requirements capture and specification generation to system design, development and validation.
Suitable for: Chief Engineer, Chief Battery Systems Engineer; Principal Engineer, Senior Battery Systems Engineer, Battery Systems Engineer.
You will work across product development and customer R&D projects including EV systems, powertrain and energy storage and will be responsible for developing appropriate battery systems architecture to suit each programme size and timescale.
Provide technical leadership as required in the technical delivery of engineering projects ensuring technical deliverable are met. Deliver engineering tasks in line with project milestones. Projects may include electric vehicle systems, powertrain, and stationary energy storage. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and validating appropriate battery system architecture for these applications. Utilize your analysis experience to research and propose appropriate battery system architectures Derive and validate the battery system component level requirements. Develop and execute appropriate system level verification & validation plans. Work with design engineers, suppliers and build technicians to realise prototype hardware and test it in line with the V&V plan (including MiL, HiL and field testing as appropriate) Support product sourcing, purchasing and selection as required Participate in technical reviews of product designs, requirements and specifications. Support new business opportunities through bid leadership, preparation of commercial documentation, client meetings and promotional activities where appropriate. Manage resources (labour and facilities)
Proven leadership skills Experienced in the automotive or other relevant battery systems design, development & validation. Have an excellent understanding of automotive engineering design practices particularly in the field of Battery systems, their subcomponents, materials selection and manufacturing techniques. A sound understanding of engineering, physics and applied mathematics. Degree or similar qualification in an engineering discipline Proven track record in the effective delivery of technical objectives to quality targets and milestones.
