The purpose of the role is to support the growth of the Space Sector through effective bid development and ensure best practice and effective delivery of bid and proposal management within the Space sector.

The Space Sector Bid Manager will support the rapidly growing MTC Space sector portfolio from lead qualification to contract award to enable a higher throughput of proposal development to grow the sector‘s commercial pipeline and create significant impact for the sector and wider society.
The role encompasses:
Structuring proposals and preparing bid documentation, consulting and negotiating product/service contracts with external customers and suppliers.
The Space Sector Bid Manager will harness their own network and Space sector experience to help grow the MTC sector pipeline and create positive impact.
Expert management of ESA and other grant funding applications from qualification to contact award including compliance and quality of proposals/contracts/bid documentation.
Working closely and interface regularly within the marketing, sales, business development and technical/engineering teams to structure proposals/bids and monitor progress of opportunities from prospect to purchase order including following Space specific grant funding opportunities both in and outside of the relevant government schemes identified by The MTC.
The Space Sector Bid Manager will consult and negotiate on product and service contracts with external customers.
Creating the capacity for the Sector Development Manager to further grow the Space sector pipeline and deliver greater impact to the UK Space Sector and manufacturing supply chain.
The successful candidate for the Space Sector Bid Manager role will possess the following attributes:
You will possess knowledge and experience within the Space sector ideally ESA proposals to support detailed engagement and smooth bid preparation within multiparty, cross sector consortia, ideally at least five years sector specific experience.
The Bid Manager will possess demonstrable bid management experience on proposal values in excess of £1M upwards and be conversant with large multiparty consortium bid and proposal development.
You will demonstrate experience and awareness of the Space sector political and commercial landscape and be conversant with Innovate UK, UKSA and ESA funding formats.
The Space Sector Bid Manager will be well versed in bidding best practices including compliance and quality control in addition to managing partnerships and influencing strategic decisions.
You will demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness including P&L, risk mitigation and risk management and requirements for contractual documentation.
The Space Sector Bid Manager will ably demonstrate management experience of complex multi-workstream opportunities including bid resourcing and budgetary requirements.
