Artemis Technologies is an applied technology spin-off from the Artemis Racing America‘s Cup Team, founded in 2017 to commercialise the hydro-foiling and tool chain intellectual property developed by the team. Providing engineering services to high-performance and commercial clients and led by double Olympic gold medalist, Dr Iain Percy OBE, the Artemis Technologies team comprises global experts from the fields of maritime, yacht design, aerospace and motorsport. Artemis are ably supported by a superb consortium of engineering and academic partners, with funding from UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), in pursuit of research and development excellence.

 

 

The Role:

 

Artemis Technologies are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to support them in their mission to become the market leader in high-speed zero-emissions vessels and propulsion systems, to lead the decarbonisation of the maritime industry.

 

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for developing the specification of the onboard electronics systems. Key responsibilities include specifying and designing the electrical installation of the instrumentation, control systems, battery systems, electric motors, telemetry, sensors and wiring systems.

 

You will coordinate and collaborate with ATL technical partners, in order to deliver groundbreaking solutions for electrical system marinization and take responsibility for the commissioning, calibration and setup of these electronics systems.

 

Additionally, you will work closely with the rest of the systems team to ensure the full eFoiler systems package is of the highest standard and support the team with faultfinding and maintenance where applicable. The Senior Electronics Engineer will support the boat development programs where required and ensure that the systems meet all appropriate regulations. You will strive to introduce new electronics technologies to Artemis wherever possible and demonstrate subject matter expertise in the electronics engineering field.

 

 

 

You will work collaboratively with the Artemis Technologies teams, building good relationships across all areas of the business and continually upholding the core values of Artemis Technologies throughout your work and engagement with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

 

 

The Person:

 

The Senior Electronics Engineer will ideally possess extensive experience within electronic engineering including demonstrating a proven ability to design, deploy, calibrate and debug complex instrumentation systems in static and real-time environments.

 

You will possess expert knowledge of battery and HV DC systems (360V to 800V), including charging systems. You will have extensive knowledge of CAN bus systems, possess the ability to design wiring harnesses for the complete vessel and demonstrate the ability to integrate and develop novel sensor technology into marine applications where required.

 

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be able to design and develop simple electronic interface units (including PCB design) and demonstrate a practical and hands-on approach to systems integration. Good working knowledge of rapid prototyping compiled code and ECU hardware on motorsport type systems and exposure to Matlab, Simulink, and Pi Toolbox are highly advantageous for the position. You will be ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent and possess a minimum of 2-5 years professional experience in the field.
