A leading company manufacturing innovative products to the construction & civil sectors has a new vacancy for a Business Unit Manager to join the group. Candidates must have a proven record of running a successful manufacturing business operation, have strong leadership experience, a good understanding of the civil sector and an interest in technology & product development.
 
 
Commutable from: Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Stroud, Newport, Cheltenham, Swindon.

Salary: £ 60,000 - £ 75,000 p.a. + Benefits

Suitable for: Operations Manager, Operations Director, Business Unit Manager, General Manager, Managing Director, Manufacturing Director, Plant Manager.


The Role

An experienced Operations professional you will be responsible for effective sector segmentation, defining sector strategy and leading an integrated team (including Engineering, Programmes and Sales) to deliver all sector initiatives and projects, in order to grow the sector and deliver the business plan, in line with quality, schedule and gross margin expectations.

Key responsibilities:
Develop sector strategy
Manage performance and development of the team in line with the best people practices
Create a collaborative, focused and positive working environment to inspire and motivate others
Be a role model for the company`s values and leadership behaviours
Play an active role in the organization`s leadership team and the performance of the whole business unit.
Manage knowledge and capability within the team to create effective succession planning and prevent single point failures


The Person

With strong operations management skills candidates are sought with a good understanding of the civil and/or construction industry and proven experience in developing and managing high-performance, cross functional teams to deliver multiple, complex programmes in a technology environment to an exceptional standard. With excellent communication skills you will be comfortable working at all levels across the business and be able to priorities and manage multiple projects concurrently.
