Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer-Modelling and Simulation. The purpose of this role is to provide solution concepts utilising physics and engineering principals to improve manufacturing processes and product design.

The Simulation and Modelling team undertakes innovative research work focused primarily on manufacturing Capability Readiness Level (MCRLs) 4-6 in physics modelling and simulation to support manufacturing capabilities.
The key responsibilities and duties of the Senior Research Engineer-Simulation and Modelling will include:
Provide a level of business and technical leadership and proactively contribute the functioning and development of other technical areas of the team. Contribute towards projects either as a technical leader or work package leader in line with MTC best practices. Support the development and maintenance of physics modelling value propositions, roadmaps and technology horizon scanning activities for future capabilities. Assist the Resource Manager in mentoring and up skilling of Graduate Engineers, Research Engineers and Advanced Research Engineers. Lead Engagement with Customers both internal and external. Lead project proposal and business case writing for the physics modelling team portfolio, including funding bodies, industrial partners and R&D consortium opportunities. Provide technical leadership to other areas of the business in relation to physics modelling and simulation covering component manufacturing technology and advanced production systems.
The successful candidate for Senior Research Engineer-Simulation and Modelling will be experienced and qualified in the following:
Minimum of degree qualified in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Science plus minimum of 5 years industry experience or equivalent experience. Demonstrable commercial awareness within the manufacturing sector. Subject matter expertise in FEA, CFD or DEM physics modelling. Proficiency in Python, Java or C++. Experience in the use of advanced statistical analysis and design of experiments. Have knowledge of model & systems integration and simulation data management utilising Ansys Minerva or Siemens Simulation Management software. Have knowledge of containerisation of software/ virtual machines. Utilisation of Docker or Kubernetes. Proven background in leading and developing a team.
