Consilium Recruit has been retained by a global engineering organisation that provides advanced research & development solutions to the defence sector.
As part of ambitious growth plans, they seek to appoint an industry experienced Business Development Manager to drive new commercial opportunities. Accordingly, candidates are sought with existing experience of operating within the defence sector.
Working for global engineering R&D led organisation, you will utilise your network and sector knowledge to identify and generate new business opportunities within the burgeoning defence sector. The companies core activities include Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Advanced Electronics, Software & Firmware and Sophisticated Systems, so any experience of working in these disciplines would be advantageous although not essential.
As part of the role you will:
Identify future programmes within the defence sector.
Develop strong mutually beneficial relationships.
Work with senior leadership team to win long term R&D projects.
Take lead responsibility for developing client accounts and capture plans.
Develop a new business pipeline for both new and existing accounts.
Be accountable for taking identified opportunities through from capture of requirements through to the delivery of compelling value-added proposals.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record in developing long term partnerships with significant experience and contacts within in the defence sector. Working at often concept stage you will be aware of new business opportunities in R&D and must have a business-winning mindset with strong influencing skills.
With a good appreciation of advanced technologies and complex project planning, you will be a client facing professional with proven ability to form lasting business relationships and conversant with proposal development and delivery.
