As the Advanced Research Engineer - Additive Manufacturing, the initial focus of this role is to deliver projects as well as support the projects development related activities. This role reports to the Resource Manager and will form an important part of the Additive Manufacturing team.
The key responsibilities and duties of the Advanced Research Engineer will include:
Support the manufacturing projects in the area of non-metal Additive Manufacturing technologies.
Act as Technical Lead for smaller projects, to ensure that work meets customer needs.
Handle innovative engineering research work that will be focused on technology and manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3+, and demonstrate industrial project delivery.
Leadership and management of engineer/s.
Contribute in the recognition, technical specification and delivery of latest and bestselling technology capability into the business and clients.
Involve in all sides of the project delivery such as concept generation, detailed design, technical order support and awareness of project budget.
The successful candidate for the Advanced Research Engineer - Additive Manufacturing will possess the following attributes:
Minimum of degree qualified with a calibre engineering, science, technology or mathematics plus minimum of 2 years industry experience or equivalent experience.
Experience and working knowledge of Polymer Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing processes and materials testing.
Experience in applying experimental design methodologies.
Previous experience of manufacturing processes related to Additive Manufacturing techniques.
Candidates must show strong communication skills and possess excellent organisational skills.
Demonstrate a supremacy of report writing and presentation skills.
Experience leading, managing or supervising others.
