The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer Systems Engineering. The purpose of the role is to provide technical delivery of projects and leadership within the Systems Engineering Team.

Reporting to the Resource Manager, the Senior Research Engineer Systems Engineering will lead on technical deliverables, taking ownership to ensure work meets or exceeds customer requirements inline with the agreed budgets and timescales.
As part of the role you will:
Support Senior Managers with a proactive approach in the identification, technical specification and delivery of new novel technology capability into the MTC and customers.
Undertake innovative Engineering research work focused primarily on technology/ manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3 plus.
Generation of key project and strategic initiatives in alignment with theme‘s strategy, actively supporting to develop the themes business and technology strategy.
Able to lead engagement with existing customers to win repeat business.
Identify and support continuous improvement in technical aspects of the MTC‘s project delivery capability.
The successful candidate for the Senior Research Engineer Systems Engineering role will possess the following attributes:
Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
Ideally working towards or currently part of Chartered Professional qualification such as INCOSE.
Experience using Systems Engineering approach to delivering large or multi-disciplinary engineering projects utilising various systems engineering tools that can be applied through project lifecycle.
Desired experience in the development of assembly processes including assembly equipment, tooling & fixturing and simulation software tools such as Siemens Process Simulate.
Previous experience in conducting practical experimentation or trials, including scoping, test planning, equipment selection and specification is desirable.
A background in Aerospace, Space, Construction, Medical Devices, Power & Energy is preferable but by no means essential.
Pragmatic hands on experience, providing problem solving approach with the willingness to participate in the completion of work when required.
