Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer NDT. The purpose of the role is to provide technical delivery of projects and leadership within the Non-Destructive Testing Team.

The Role


Reporting to the Resource Manager, the Senior Research Engineer NDT will lead on technical deliverables, taking ownership to ensure work meets or exceeds customer requirements inline with the agreed budgets and timescales.


As part of the role you will:


  • Support Senior Managers with a proactive approach in the identification, technical specification and delivery of new novel technology capability into the MTC and customers.

  • Undertake innovative Engineering research work focused primarily on technology/ manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3 plus.

  • Generation of key project and strategic initiatives in alignment with theme‘s strategy, actively supporting to develop the themes business and technology strategy.

  • Able to lead engagement with existing customers to win repeat business.

  • Identify and support continuous improvement in technical aspects of the MTC‘s project delivery capability.

  • Committed to work collaboratively and network effectively.




The Person


The successful candidate for the Senior Research Engineer NDT role will possess the following attributes:


  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or science discipline.

  • Demonstratable in-depth knowledge of multiple NDT techniques to include Ultrasonic, Thermographic, X-ray, CT or Eddy Current.

  • Experience providing technical leadership, knowledge transfer and strategic direction.

    • Previous experience in the application of research to address industrial challenges and evidence of implementation of research outcomes is beneficial.

  • Pragmatic hands-on experience, providing problem solving approach with the willingness to participate in the completion of work when required.
