The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Digital Transformation Advisor. As identified by the Made Smarter commission report in 2017, UK Manufacturing must rapidly accelerate its adoption of digital technologies. The MTC play a pivotal role in providing support to businesses on their journey in digitalisation. The Digital Transformation team provide support to businesses in identifying the necessary digital capabilities and developing strategies and plans in the form of a digital roadmap.

The Digital Transformation Advisor will lead and support on client projects to enable roadmap development and where appropriate developing tools and capabilities for use within a client business.
The Digital Transformation team are working across a wide range of clients, but particularly with SMEs and the Digital Transformation Advisor will play a key role in supporting these activities as demand for these capabilities increases.
Additional duties and responsibilities include:
Understanding the MTC‘s client‘s problems and how MTC can support their resolution;
Identification of appropriate digital technologies
Using assessment tools to identify the current state of digital systems maturity.
Running workshops to identify digital technology opportunities to support strategic growth.
Evaluating opportunities to define work packages with clear value propositions.
Planning for information system selection
Developing pilot programmes for digitalisation projects
The successful candidate for the Digital Transformation Advisor will possess the following attributes:
High level stakeholder management, both internally and externally;
Commercially and financially astute;
Independent and driven self- starter and completer finisher.
Performing well in a customer facing role;
Able to absorb a wide range of developments in technology and see how these can add value to the industrial sector;
Communicating technical information in a credible way, with a level of detail that is appropriate to the audience;
Good Engineering, Information Systems or Business degree, possibly with an MBA.
Experience in the manufacturing sector is essential either as a manager, manufacturing engineer, information systems consultant, management consultant, systems analyst or systems architect.
