A high-tech engineering company requires a Systems Engineer to join a small team working on cutting edge aerospace technology.

 

 

Commutable from Coventry, Telford, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Birmingham, Warwick,

 

Salary £ 45,000 - £ 50,000 p.a. + Benefits + 25   days holiday + Bank Hols

 

 

The Role

 

As the Systems Engineer you will report directly into the Aerospace Engineering Team Leader and be responsible for engaging with customers to elicit and understand their requirements, and manage the allocation process to translate customer requirements into sub- system, hardware and software specifications.

 

Other responsibilities include:

 

  Preparation of system documentation to aid design and development of hardware and software with the end goal being system qualification and product certification.

  Managing requirements and verification analysis via established tools and methodologies to ensure adequate traceability. Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of requirements into total systems solutions.

  Undertaking system integration, verification and validation at all levels of total system “ product ” to include: concept, design, manufacture, testing, installation, operation and maintenance.

  Assisting with planning/scheduling system activities with the team leader and programme manager to deliver within project timescales.

  Performing integration and / or test of all components, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet project objectives.

  Coaching and training the engineering team on best-practice systems engineering principles.

 

 

The Person

 

As the Systems Engineer you will support the Aerospace division within the Company, improving quality, efficiency and cost. You will have a high level of both verbal and written communication skills providing regular communication to internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers.

 

Other responsibilities include:

 

  Sound knowledge and experience of applying Systems Engineering principles.

  Experience of verification and validation of system requirements - e.g. test case authoring, result analysis, issue resolution, conducting tests.

  Experience of the systems and SW development lifecycle within aerospace or a similar safety critical industry

  Awareness of system modelling tools such as Enterprise Architect. Desirable

  Experience working within the guidelines of ARP4754A.

  Knowledge of Aircraft Certification Specifications such as EASA CS-25, CS-23

  Familiarity with Aerospace processes and guidelines such as DO-254, DO- 178C, DO-160, ARP4761

  Knowledge of hydrogen-fuel cell technologies
