Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit the MTC has a unique opportunity for a Head of Communications & Engagement - Strategic Projects. The role is to to lead strategic engagement and communications across key programmes, initially aligned to the Construction Innovation Hub (CIH) for the next 12-18 months before moving onto subsequent large strategic projects. The right person will be an experienced leader who can balance shifting strategic priorities, team leadership and partnership working.

The Role    

 

The Head of Communications & Engagement - Strategic Projects will initially be aligned to the Construction Innovation Hub. The CIH is tasked with changing how buildings and infrastructure are designed, procured, manufactured, and connected. By joining the Hub, you will have a unique opportunity to work on a transformative project with the best and the brightest minds across the worlds of academia, industry, and government. 

This position is responsible for the leadership of a successful Communications and Engagement strategy for the CIH, with overarching responsibility for External Communications, Internal Communications, Events, Public Affairs, Campaigns & Engagement.  

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Be a member of the Hub Leadership team, working closely with Programme Director, Operations Director and Outcome Team to oversee and assure the delivery of programme objectives

  • Continue to develop and execute the communications and engagement strategy

  • Maintain and grow strategic relationships with senior stakeholders across government and industry, building the Hub`s network and ensuring strong support for all Hub projects  

  • Provide strategic input on the planning and running of integrated campaigns based on up-to-date data and insight on critical audiences externally and internally

 

The Person

 

The successful candidate for the role of Head of Communications & Engagement - Strategic Projects will have/be:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience in measuring the impact of communications and engagement activities from end-to-end

  • Team management skills

  • Market knowledge within the Construction, Infrastructure, Aerospace or Power and Energy Sectors.

  • Bachelor‘s degree in Marketing or relevant fields

  • CIM qualification

  • Leading with a proven track record of working at senior Delivering an integrated approach to communications and engagement levels

  • Successfully managing matrix teams in a complex organisation, showcasing solid leadership and interpersonal skills
