Consilium Executive Search has been exclusively retained by one of the UK‘s foremost aerospace manufacturing groups in their search for a new Chief Executive Officer.

 

As an established yet ambitious global manufacturing group, this highly innovative company has secured significant investment and is embarking on a growth programme to expand its global portfolio and further development of the company‘s product range with a major emphasis on new technologies.

 

Applicants are therefore sought with a significant experience working in the aerospace sector coupled with a proven track record of effectively leading a multi-site international operation.

 

The CEO will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational plans; leading on partnership and business development; and acting as an effective advocate for the organisation.

 

He/she will lead the company‘s management team, providing clear direction and leadership, with ultimate responsibility for ensuring financial control while also supporting and advising on good governance across all aspects of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Work closely with the board of directors and other executives, lead the development of long-range strategic goals for the organisation and devise associated objectives, plans, and policies in order to deliver against.

 

Oversee the organisation‘s financial structure and assume responsibility for all aspects of financial control and management performance, including working relationships with various third party financial institutions and funding providers.

 

Alongside the Chief Financial Officer, prepare annual budgets, analyse risk and advise the board of directors on the risk and return of the investments.

 

Review the financial results of all operations in line with company objectives and take appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and results.

 

Co-ordinate executive team on major decision making including acquisitions, mergers, or large-scale expansion plans.

 

Provide effective leadership of the organisation and management of staff, including the implementation of policies relating to staff, ensuring that they are supported and trained to make an effective contribution.

 

Drive quality performance throughout the company by setting goals for each department in collaboration with the departmental head and associated stakeholders.

 

Develop the company‘s on-going transformation and advancement in core R&D and parts design, process tooling and assembly.

 

 

Required Skills / Abilities:

 

CEO or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years‘ experience and demonstrable ability to successfully manage and profitably develop a company.

 

Excellent managerial and financial skills with the ability to take leadership over any business operations area.

 

Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations including working closely and in partnership with financial institutions at a high level.

 

Resourceful, resilient and innovative, with the ability to manage a range of different priorities, understand a wide range of activities and effectively manage a diverse team of technical and commercial staff.

 

Excellent Interpersonal skills and judgement which inspire confidence and trust in staff, stakeholders and other organisations.

Understanding of the legal requirements and other obligations affecting a limited liability company, plus representative membership organisations and governing bodies.

 

Candidate must have proven ability and background of influence within the aerospace sector, not only in Europe, but also across the Asia-Pacific region would be advantageous.

 

Excellent top-level financial planning ability along with experience of financial auditing. advantageous.

A strong educational background with a degree in engineering, finance, law or an MBA preferred.
