Joining a rapidly growing organisation you will support the design, modelling, simulation and test of power electronics systems. Candidates must have strong experience in multi-discipline engineering activities and experience in performing lifetime testing.

Working for one of the UK‘s leading research and development organisations you will be working on a number of innovative programmes and will provide power electronics expertise that will enable the realisation of ideas and designs.
Perform Lifetime testing including vibration, thermal and mechanical shock
Evaluate circuit topologies that optimise converter power efficiency and power density to demonstrate the benefits of using SiC and GaN devices.
Design, modelling, simulation, assembly and test of power electronic systems.
Evaluate candidate power conversion topologies using circuit modelling and simulation.
Create PCB designs to optimise electromagnetic and thermal performance.
Support the activities of the power electronics team as well as collaborate with the other engineering functions of Advanced Packaging, RF/Microwave and Photonics to deliver cross functional projects.
Technical Reporting to project team and wider audience to demonstrate regular progress.
Experienced in perform Lifetime testing
Knowledge of degradation mechanisms in power modules and SiC/GaN transistors.
Experience in Semiconductor physics, design processes and manufacturing techniques.
Understanding practicalities of high-power devices.
Experience in multi-discipline engineering activities including package / PCB / mechanical and software design
Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues
Analytical with good problem-solving skills
