An international FMCG business based in Banbury has a requirement for a Product Change Manager - Packaging. Working within the manufacturing supply chain team, this packaging engineer will shape the best practice within the packaging function to ensure both material and machine interface is optimized to reduce losses and drive cost savings. This permanent, full-time position is a Monday - Friday role, based on site at Banbury.

Salary: £ 40,000 - £45,000 annual salary plus; 27 days holiday plus bank, private healthcare option scheme, available overtime at increased rate and other benefits

The role of Product Change Manager - Packaging:

 

  • This person will have a key focus on the development and specification of materials, parts and components to ensure the plant safety, quality, service and cost KPIs are met

  • As this is a new role you will make it your own and implement great ideas within the packaging field

  • Be the point of contact for plant R&D to validate pack materials evolutions and to deliver fit for purpose material specifications

  • Coordinate projects internally, making the link between scheduling, supply, production, quality, maintenance and engineering departments

  • Coordination of NPD and packaging modifications tests within the factory

  • Manage the diagnosis of line issues related to the pack materials

  • Coordinate problem solving and creation of preventative and improvement actions between suppliers, purchasing departments, central quality and the factory

  • Conduct targeted analysis focusing on loss analysis, kaizen and lean management

  • Develop plans to optimize resources and process changes, and implement the solutions

 

 

The ideal Product Change Manager - Packaging:

 

  • Strong project management skills

  • Understanding of production and supply processes

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to apply LEAN tools

  • Demonstrate years exposure working in a manufacturing

  • Packaging exposure within an FMCG, food or drink manufacturing business would be beneficial

  • Comfortable reading and understanding technical drawings
