A leading manufacturer of complex components supplying sectors including Aerospace, Automotive and Energy has a new opportunity for an NDT Inspector. With previous experience working in precision engineering candidates will ideally have knowledge of magnetic particle and dye Penetrant inspection techniques and the position involves ensuring regular and appropriate testing and inspection of the final product prior to release to customer.

 

 

Commutable from: Derby, Nottingham, Derby, Newark On Trent, Sutton In Ashfield.

 

Salary: £ 32,000 - £ 36,000 p.a. + benefits

 

Suitable for: Inspector, Quality Inspector, Quality Engineer, Quality Technician, Inspector, Inspection, NDT Inspector, FPI Inspector or MPI Inspector, NDT.

 

 

The Role

 

Duties and responsibilities for the NDT Inspector role will include:

 

Setup, calibrate and maintain non-destructive test (NDT) equipment.

Conduct non-destructive testing inspections using magnetic particle and dye penetrant inspection techniques.

Perform minor blending operations to remediate crack indications.

Inspect parts using traditional precision measurement tools as required; typical tools include Verniers, Callipers, Micrometres,

Ability to compile techniques for NDT inspections.

Make informed decisions using specifications, criteria, procedures and as guidelines.

Participate and manage 3rd party audit (Nadcap / customer audits)

Process parts prior to NDT which will include pre-penetrant etch / stress relieve operations.

 

 

The Candidate

 

The successful candidate for the NDT Inspector will have/be:

 

Candidates will ideally be level 3 PCN qualified and must have experience of Fluorescent Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspection. Candidates at level 2 will be considered provided they are looking to progress to level 3. You must be highly organised and have good working knowledge of all NDT processes and techniques.

 

With excellent planning and communications skills, you will have ability to work to strict deadlines and organise resources and prioritise workload accordingly among the NDT team.
