A rapidly growing and nationally renowned testing and inspection organisation based in Gloucestershire is seeking a Laboratory Manager to join their hugely successful business, on a permanent basis, to support experimental, research and certification work in their laboratories.

Salary: £ 30,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + Excellent Benefits
The Laboratory Manager will possess proven experience within a UKAS and ISO 17025 accredited environment. You will lead research and testing activities for a range of materials and products with particular emphasis on fire safety and material behaviours within hazardous conditions.
The Laboratory Manager will support and supervise the activities of the project teams within the labs and ensure that customer projects are delivered safely, accurately and on-time. The role requires a level of interface within external customers and broad range of internal stakeholders including the lab, projects and commercial teams within the business.
The Laboratory Manager will ensure the labs work effectively and safely, maintaining current accreditations and ensure the equipment and people capability is optimised. You will play an active role in sourcing laboratory equipment and training in addition to close liaison with any relevant governing and certification bodies within the sector.
The Laboratory Manager will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and possess previous experience within materials testing, preferably within the fire safety or certification fields. You will have previously managed the operational performance of a research and certification lab and be conversant with the required standards for best practice within testing and certification.
The Laboratory Manager will be conversant with the accurate calibration standards and operating procedures for safety within a laboratory conducting destructive testing methods. You will be able to lead, inspire and organise a rapidly growing team to achieve excellent results whilst embodying the organisational values and supporting the growth of your team to further positions within the organisation.
