The Role    


The Events Technician requires a strong technical understanding and practical experience to support with audio, visual, lighting, meeting platforms and relevant associated controls that deliver a wide range of live, hybrid or virtual meetings/events.


Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Being the main point of contact for internal and external clients for technical support.

  • Deliver first class, safe customer experience whilst actively owning problems and seeking solutions.

  • Control and manage safe events including hospitality.

  • Support the wider events and catering teams in addition to deputising for the Operations and Services Manager in their absence.

  • Accountable for the itinerary of all event‘s technical equipment and meeting room resources.

  • Ensure all items are booked out on Condeco to ensure resources are not exhausted

  • Ensure equipment is carefully and securely stored and organised.

  • Perform daily meeting room checks across the campus ensuring issues are identified before impacting users.

  • Create user guides and training literature for meeting rooms.

  • Operate events equipment including, but not limited to audio desks, lighting, vision mixers and PTZ cameras.



The Person


The successful candidate for the role of Events Technician will have/be:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene

  • Great customer service skills and willingness to go the extra mile.

  • Experience working within a busy events team, conference venue or hotel.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and good time management.

  • Preparation, test and operation of specialised equipment such as amplifiers, speakers, control desks, PTZ cameras, HD displays, projectors and associated controls.

  • Good understanding of events and catering industry.

  • Good IT Skills - proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
