Due to continued expansion a leading engineering group is currently recruiting a Head of Quality to join its significant operation in Devon. Manufacturing complex engineered components this division has seen substantial investment and the successful appointment will have full autonomy for the quality function reporting directly to the General Manager. Candidates must have previous experience working in precision engineering with aerospace experience a preferable but not essential.
Commutable from: Devon, Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Dawlish, Brixham.
Salary: £ 65,000 - £ 80,000 p.a. + private healthcare + benefits
Suitable for: Quality Manager, Head of Quality, Quality Director, Group Quality Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all quality activities on site and ensuring a robust Quality management system is in place.
Lead and manage activities designed to improve the overall effectiveness of the QMS.
Coach, mentor and develop Quality team
Implement effective internal audit procedures
Identify and report on nonconformance issues and implement corrective actions in timely manner
Ensure that the QMS systems is regularly reviewed and improved to be fit for purpose.
Be the quality representative with customers
Maintain up to date knowledge of latest technical development, processes and procedures
Communicate quality processes to Engineering and Operational Teams to ensure best practice
Develop and provide training tools.
Drive continuous improvement throughout the business
An experienced senior quality professional, with proven experience in developing and maintaining a QMS within a manufacturing/engineering environment, you will have an engaging leadership style, a desire to drive continuous improvement and a right first-time ethos.
With proven ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands whilst meeting operational deadlines, you will also have proved experience in leading Quality investigations & cross-functional 8D problem solving workshops. Candidates must have worked in a highly regulated sector such as Aerospace, Automotive, Energy or similar.
