The Role: Regional Business Development Manager SME
The purpose of the role is to target and engage with manufacturing SME‘s in your territory to deliver revenue growth and help contribute towards transforming and improving UK Manufacturing. The role will focus on generating leads, opportunities, proposals and then handing across the customer into deliverable projects, whilst maintaining account management responsibility throughout the delivery project cycle. Whilst profitable revenue generation is your core focus, delivering high impact manufacturing transformation for individual organisations, industry sectors and UK PLC, is the fundamental purpose of this role within MTC.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Deliver revenue growth within the identified territory
Become the “Community Hub” person that SME‘s revert to in your territory when they need help and support to transform their business
Proactively own, maintain and expand key relationships; customers, prospects and innovative partner organisations
Identify opportunities within existing customer base and external market to create mutual value
Understand customer‘s technological and strategic roadmaps, needs and requirements
Develop and maintain target lists and account plans
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders , including but not limited to marketing, delivery, technical, legal and operations to provide world class outcomes for SME customers
Lead generation and pipeline management; opportunity identification, qualification, proposal writing and closing
Maintenance of CRM system to reflect activity, both customer engagement and sales opportunities
The Person
The successful candidate for the role of Business Development Manager will have/be:
Consultative / solution selling experience within a Manufacturing, Systems Integrator and/or Engineering environment
Experience of developing a strategic sales and marketing plan then executing this by building and closing sales pipeline opportunities
Proven ability to identify SME manufacturing problems and translate complex customer aspirations into realised and desirable outcomes
Good networker and influencer
Excellent written communication skills
Experience of working with and updating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
Adept at managing customers‘ expectations in line with agreed project deliverables
An agile mind with a passion for transformation
Financially literate and numerate
Ability to engage with internal stakeholders, particularly engineers, to gain and credibly communicate an understanding of technology and engineering opportunities
