A food manufacturing business based in Banbury have a crucial requirement for a Product Developer (NPD), to create, develop and launch new products. As an integral member of the NPD team, this person will provide support to the existing and new product development processes.

Salary: £ 26,000 - £ 32,000 per year, hybrid working (3 days a week in the office), 25 days holiday plus bank, retail discounts, death in service 2 x salary, childcare vouchers, pension scheme, car parking, cycle to work scheme.

The role of Product Developer:
Identify consumer insights and subsequently develop compelling product propositions for our brands, licensors, and own label customers
Understand the brands visions, values and standards, creating new and original NPD products in house and also externally
Use appropriate research to test and benchmark products throughout the development process and ongoing quality management
Prepare customer NPD samples and mock-ups, attend customer meetings when necessary
Keep informed of food trends and attend store visits, ensuring you are up to date with industry updates and new trends
Project manage cross functional project teams to deliver successful NPD projects on time and within the assigned budget
Coordinate trials with production and attend production runs, translate what is made in the NPD kitchen to the factory runs
Develop suitable packaging solutions for launch
Prepare products for both internal and retailer presentations
Undertake general NPD administration such as sample submission forms and trial request forms
The ideal Product Developer:
A passionate foodie who loves to cook and is inspired by the latest trends and ingredients
A creative mindset, with the drive to bring new products to market
Someone with the curiosity to want to understand consumers and shoppers
Have worked in the food industry for 2 years ideally
A relevant food, nutrition, or food science qualification
A strong relationship builder who can maintain collaborative relationships with licensors and suppliers
Experience working in a new product development (NPD), specifications or technologist type position within a food business
