A well respected and industry leading manufacturer of complex components supplying sectors including defence, nuclear, energy and marine has a new vacancy for a Business Development Manager to join the team. An experienced business development professional, you will form part of the senior management team and will be tasked with identifying & introducing new customers to the business and forging strong relationships with existing customers.

Salary: £ 55,000 - £ 65,000 + benefits

Develop long term relationships with key customers
Identify new sales opportunities with existing and new customers.
Develop and implement ways to package the company portfolio of products for existing and new market sectors.
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve targets
Act as main point of contact for key customers & account development
Take full responsibility for the tender process
Resolve contractual and commercial issues
Be aware of new sector programs and technologies
Produce and analyse weekly and monthly reports in line with sales targets and market intelligence
Negotiate with customers at all levels to win business and improve margins
Liaise with engineering teams to understand how to meet customer requirements
Applicants are sought with a proven track record of identifying new customers and maximising commercial opportunities in a senior technical sales position. With a background selling a precision engineered product preference will be given to candidates with a good understanding of the aerospace & defence sectors although others will be considered including energy, marine and automotive.
You will be a customer focused and results driven, with excellent communication and organisation skills and a hands-on approach.
