The Sustainability Analyst - Advanced Research Engineer role is is focused on the technical delivery of projects and support the development of project related activities across The MTC, working across various technology departments and industrial sectors.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Be the largely independent supply of larger project`s technical deliverables, and act as Technical Lead for smaller projects where required; ensuring work meets or exceeds agreed customer requirements, within agreed budgets and timescales.
Undertake innovative Engineering research work focused primarily on technology/manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3+, and able to demonstrate industrial project delivery.
Contribute in the identification, technical specification and delivery of new and novel technology capability into the MTC, customers, or industrial members premises.
This role will require involvement in all aspects of the project delivery including but not restricted to: concept generation, detailed design, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, technical support of commissioning, awareness of project budget and deliverables.
The successful candidate for the role of Sustainability Analyst - Advanced Research Engineer will have/be:
Degree calibre engineer, technologist, scientist or mathematician. An educational background, or suitable experience in one of the following: sustainability in business or manufacturing, operational research, business, industrial, logistics, manufacturing or engineering;
The candidate must have strong logical reasoning and analytical skills;
Demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in simulation, modelling and analytical studies, including one or more of:
Life Cycle Assessment;
Discrete Event Simulation
Agent Based Modelling
Mathematical and Statistical Modelling
Cost Modelling and Estimation
Implement and develop modelling tools to support decision making in sustainable manufacturing e.g. embodied emissions in manufacturing, impact of 9R framework/ circular economy on manufacturing process.
