Consilium Recruit are supporting a global player in clean and green applications for the maritime sector designing and supporting a range of vessels with both Hydrogen and Electric propulsion systems and the associated integration of them into the vessels. They are seeking a Legislation Team Leader (Compliance) to join the team in Essex.
Commutable from: Brentwood, Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford, East London

You will lead on compliance and certification challenges relevant to the maritime sector and the associated projects for decarbonisation.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading teams through the product certification process to comply with various global hydrogen, automotive and marine standards.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and applicable codes.
Acting as an interface for external stakeholders to exchange functional safety and homologation requirements and cascade requirements to systems, subsystems, and components level.
Performing reviews to ensure compliance to safety analysis including DFMEA, HAZID and HAZOP.
Overseeing multiple complex schedules, setting priorities for internal teams.
Advising company management of the project statuses on a regular basis.
Coordinating the efforts of the engineering and production departments to ensure programs are conducted in accordance with the safety standard requirements.
Coordinating prototype certification testing to qualify new designs.
Supplying ongoing training to the legislation team, acting as a resource and mentor for technical guidance.
Independently anticipating potential schedule delays and initiate plans for alternative actions as needed; able to rearrange competing priorities to ensure all deadlines are met.
Working professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus upon maximising system safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and experience set:
A Bachelor‘s degree in engineering, business, or a related field of study (or equivalent level qualification)
Relevant engineering experience with managerial experience in product development or product quality.
Experience in any of the following is preferred and highly valued:
Hydrogen and/or fuel cells.
Automotive functional safety.
Oil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.
The ability to travel occasionally as required for the role.
IT skills including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
Excellent organisational skills.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
