Principal Engineer - Industry

A leading developer of hydrogen energy and propulsion solutions is seeking a Principal Engineer – Industry focused. The Principal Engineer will support the growth of projects within Hydrogen solutions for industry. This is a permanent role based at the UK
headquarters.


Commutable from:  Basildon, Brentwood, East London, Ipswich, Cambridge

Salary: £ Negotiable + Bonus + Pension


The Role

The Principal Engineer – Industry focused - will lead the technical development of one or more development projects, including all technical aspects of the product, including but not limited to mechanical design, electrical design, system performance (diesel displacement), compliance to all legal requirements.

You will demonstrate an expert level understanding of all technical knowledge with reference to design and legislation of your product and be responsible for the audit and quality of the designer and support engineer’s work. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for team communication, motivation, and development to ensure technical knowledge and skills are developed and kept up to date with marine industry and certification standards.

Additionally, you will ensure the project is delivered from concept through to completion following all steps of the gateway process and carry out technical investigations of field problems and provide technical solutions. The Principal Engineer will conduct project reviews to ensure continuous learning and improvement are built into next generation processes and products.

The Principal Engineer - Industry will monitor project budget and product cost and co-ordinate activities with the required stakeholders, ensuring adherence to all Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental policies that affect the relevant work areas. You will ensure compliance and lead safety analysis activities including FMEA, HAZID and HAZOP.


The Person

The successful candidate for Principal Engineer - Industry will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field of study, or an equivalent by experience and highlight experience in any of the following: Hydrogen Technology / Fuel cell development, Oil and Gas, CNG & LNG.

The Principal Engineer – Industry will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and engineering skills, with proven ability to deliver against time, cost and quality targets and a keen eye for detail in technical content.

You will understand engineering product development for hydrogen / dual fuel systems technology and possess experience of gateway-driven processes and reporting, demonstrating exceptional ownership of technical content that will be communicated to wide range of stakeholders.
