NDT Specialist (Aerospace)

A leading manufacturer of complex precision components to the aerospace, defence and energy sectors has a new vacancy for a NDT Inspector to join the team. Candidates will be tasked with processing and inspecting components using a range of NDT inspection techniques and mentoring junior inspectors. Candidates are sought with experience gained ideally in fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection techniques.


Commutable from: Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Plymouth, Dawlish, Brixham

Salary: to £ 55,000 p.a. + benefits (plus relocation support)

Suitable for: NDT Inspector, Non Destructive Test,  Quality Inspector, Quality Engineer.


The Role

Control and approval of NDT processes to ensure the production of compliant products.
To ensure the appropriate NDT methods are carried out correctly.
Lead the business in preparation for NADCAP and customer audits.
Ensure all special processes and procedures are robust and fit for purpose.
Participate and oversee the completion of corrective action management processes.
Responsible for the ongoing review of NDT and CP specifications, standards, and internal documentation.
Conduct regular review of rejected parts against customer specifications and maintain/monitor inspector finding rates.
Conduct NDT production inspections as required. 


The Candidate

At least 4 years proven experience in fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection.
Minimum HNC Level or equivalent in a relevant Engineering / Technical discipline.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral), including report writing.
Demonstrable proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands whilst meeting operational deadline requirements.
Experience in engaging with multiple stakeholders.
