Purchasing Manager

A globally recognised manufacturer of precision components to the aerospace, defence, energy and automotive sectors has a new vacancy for a Purchasing Manager to join its plant near Leicester. Candidates are sought who have worked in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment with good management skills and a strong business acumen.

Commutable from: Leicester, Hinckley, Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby, Loughborough, Coalville, Nottingham. 

Salary: £ 50,000 - £ 60,000 + benefits 

Suitable for: Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, Supply Chain Manager. 

The Role

Lead, manage and develop the purchasing team.
Developing strategic, strong supplier relationships.
Manage the development of all volume purchase agreement negotiations and agreements.
Coordinate negotiation strategies with suppliers.
Support the Supply Chain Director in achieving business objectives.
Establish and support long term supplier relationships to maximize supply chain effectiveness.
Develop purchasing pipelines and achieve savings in excess of annual targets.
Negotiate key commercial contracts.
Ensure that the department is appropriately represented at group meetings.
Develop a culture that supports process management and continuous improvement.

The Person

Previous management experience with a hands-on approach.
Candidate will ideally have worked in a high volume, precision manufacturing environment.
Strong commercial and business acumen.
Ability to motivate and empower the workforce.
CIPS qualification highly desirable.
A strategic thinker, you will be able to influence and implement change.
