A Research and Development organisation that enable a halving of lead-time for the design & manufacture of turbine components; develop novel techniques to enable future design styles and manufacturing systems and accelerate cost reduction & casting yield improvement activities. This is a chance to work within a co-located design and manufacturing engineering team within Coventry and in close collaboration with a wide range of research engineers from the relevant academic fields. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Casting Process Engineer.

The Role 

As Casting Process Engineer, you will be accountable for the equipment and process methods used within the facility. You will drive best practice and continuous improvement into the designated process area whilst also acting as a central point for knowledge management across the facility and externally with suppliers and stakeholders. This role has a focus on Casting Furnace Process Engineering.

Understand customer requirements and translate them through consultation into a method of manufacture managing the associated technical package. You will create, manage, and deliver the project using planning, risk management and cost tools whilst effectively managing key stakeholder expectations. Act to ensure validation and substantiation of the component and manage any arising non-conformance or quality concerns to ensure compliance to specifications and a safe method of manufacture.

The Person

The successful candidate for Casting Process Engineer will be experienced and qualified in the following areas:

  • Degree qualified or demonstrate equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience
  • Have sound understanding of manufacturing engineering and component engineering principles
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of casting furnaces.
  • Be equipped with a strong functional skill set (problem solving, programme management, change control, risk management and budgetary control)
